Courtney Boyle
Founder, Marketing and Programming
Courtney started climbing in 2007 in Southern California, her first experience messily pulling her way up some slab in Joshua Tree National Park, CA. While always maintaining recreational status as a climber, she has had the opportunity to climb in beautiful wild spaces around the country and is passionate about making it a pastime for her family. Courtney also loves skiing, hiking, backpacking, boating and all the things outdoors. As the owner of a local small business ECO, Courtney brings entrepreneurial and business management experience to the gym, but is most excited about getting back to her playful side in this endeavor and finding new and exciting programming opportunities for the gym. Courtney also loves live music, gardening, yoga, and spending time with her partner Josh and their two kids Huxley and Jonah (who also love the climbing!). She’s excited to continue to be in relationship with the amazing and supportive climbing community.
Josh Boyle
Founder, Programs and Events Manager
Josh has been climbing in the gym and outdoors since 2007 and has been sharing his passion with friends, family and youth ever since. Josh learned how to climb institutionally with Central Wyoming College and NOLS while also learning from the great climbers in Lander, Wyoming. Some of Josh’s favorite places he’s climbed with his wife, family and friends is Joshua Tree National Park, Unaweep Canyon, Canyonlands National Park, Sinks Canyon, Wild Iris and Smith Rock. He’s also taught students sport, top-rope and bouldering from Southern California to Central Washington to the boulders in our very own Bears Den. Currently, Josh shares his love for adventuring outdoors as Director of Education for ECO EdVentures, which has been partnering with Ascend the last 3 years to offer afterschool climbing club and summer camps for local youth. Josh’s true passion for climbing is sharing the sport with his family, youth and adults, and looks forward to growing the local climbing community.
Murnie Murnan
Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Murnie grew up playing a variety of sports including soccer for the University of Nebraska at Omaha. While obtaining her bachelors degree in exercise science, Murnie was introduced to rock climbing and immediately started working for the outdoor venture center as a route setter. After college, Murnie moved to Sacramento with her partner Lindsay and pursued personal training. She earned her NASM certifications as certified personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, and a performance enhancement specialist. Upon moving to Cleveland for her partners work, she decided to get back into the climbing industry as a route setter. Murnie has worked as a route setter, youth climbing coach, and private coach for over the past 6 years. Murnie loves to traveling all over the world with her partner. They have two dogs, Florence and George; two cats, Boo and Lucy; and multiple chickens and ducks (Moira, Pippi, Frank, and Norma).
Kory Kuriatnyk
Hey everyone, my name is Kory and I’m a local Tree Climber who recently fell in love with bouldering and the community at the gym.
I joined Climb Youngstown in September of 2025 and since then climbing has become a part of my everyday life. Since I was young, I’ve been climbing trees (in parks for fun) and wandering outdoors enjoying all recreational activities and even hitting the slopes for some fresh Pow during the winter! Now, you can find me at the gym on the clock or climbing 5 – 6 days a week to become a professional sport climber. I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of Climb Youngstown and the community we have here. If you ever need help while I’m at the gym, feel free to ask me anything, even if I’m just having fun on my days off. See ya soon!
Sam Miller
Sam is a frequent face around the gym — whether working the desk, throwing up one of his challenging climbs with the route-setting team, or spending his off-hours pushing himself further on the walls. Always happy to chat about movies, games, big-move beta, or even the smaller parts of life.
Climbing became a recent yet welcome passion; in his youth he always swung through trees and jumped among the rivers and rocks of must-stops like Ohiopyle. He only started climbing indoors consistently at Climb Youngstown around September 2024, but has quickly climbed up that (V)ector scale, taking in everything he can from those around him.
When not surrounded by walls, you might catch him behind a lens with a different backdrop. A generalist photographer and videographer by hobby, he captures himself and others whenever the scene falls into place — working to grow his experience and portfolio while having fun in the process. Among his goals: competing in climbing both nationally and internationally, capturing people as cinematically as possible, and above all, being a helping hand to others.
Liam Stanton
Hi, my name is Liam. I discovered climbing back in 2024 when a friend from middle school who frequented asked me if I wanted to try it out. I had a background in weightlifting already and figured it would be something fun to try out. After the first day I immediately had the passion and desire to climb every day, but unfortunately the gym closed down shortly after. A month later we reopened as Climb Youngstown, and I’ve been here ever since. I started working here a few months afterward when I figured out that I could be getting payed for being in a place I love. I have a few goals and aspirations, but really I just want to be the best climber I can be and try to make the world a better place while I’m at it. I work front desk, coach, and help set, but if you miss me, I’m here almost every other day hanging out. I hope to see you guys here someday, as climbing really is an amazing sport that everyone should experience.
